Merry Christmas! On December 15, 2021, we held our first Daystar Christmas Party! It was a huge success. Over 400 of our neighbors came out to eat together, enjoy a children's musical, and hear the message of Jesus.
56 Namalemba kids have been gathering at Daystar for weeks now, learning songs, practicing dances, making costumes, and more. Daystar team member Hudson (in blue below) has led the charge, running rehearsals, building relationships with the kids, and helping them work together. Ugandan schools have been closed for months now, making the positive environment and structure of this Christmas program even more vital.
The performance was beautiful--parents were beaming and the kids truly shone. We filled our newly constructed church building to capacity.
The police officer in charge of our area attended the function. She continued to appreciate Daystar for the work we're doing and assured us security. The local council chairman also came to show his support. We praise God for granting us favor with community leaders and look forward to continued work together.
Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to gift school supplies to the kids, who are eagerly looking forward to schools reopening in January.
No Daystar Christmas party would be complete without sharing the message of Jesus and inviting our guests to join us for Sunday services. Oh, and a delicious meal and some great homemade cake!
It has been an absolute joy becoming part of the Namalemba community. We're grateful for this chance to bless our neighbors, and we pray for a continued openness in them to all that God wants to do. Feliz Navidad!
