our past and future

Since our founding in 2017, we have traveled across Uganda organizing evangelical outreach events, revival conferences, hospital visits, home visits, and school outreaches. Events have spanned Gulu, Luuka, Omoro, Natete (Kampala), Bupadengho (Kamuli), Iganga, and Bugiri, with many outreaches drawing crowds of 300 to 500 people, and resulting in over 1000 people coming to Christ. In Luuka, we were able to donate 600 pairs of shoes and stockings to the Buwologoma primary school, where 90% of pupils had previously gone to school barefoot.

During our two years of evangelical ministry, we saw many people come to Christ. We also came to understand that people living in extreme poverty need more than just preaching and prayer to fully experience Christ's love for them. In 2019, we sensed God calling us to become a holistic ministry. We are now continuing our work of evangelism while also developing a home base that allows us to better meet the physical and spiritual needs of orphans, widows, and other vulnerable children.

God called us to invest deeply in the people of Namalemba village, a rural, majority Muslim area in Eastern Uganda. We own three acres of land in Namalemba, which we have developed into a medical clinic, church, school, farm, and chicken sustainability project (see pictures and video of our site.) We are coming alongside some of the most vulnerable families in Namalemba, providing school fees, food, and basic care products, as well as job training and emotional support for caregivers. All of the children in these families are currently lacking access to education and adequate nutrition, and their caregivers have welcomed Daystar's partnership. In addition to this family support, we are also providing the Namalemba community with affordable healthcare and inviting our neighbors to church services and Bible studies. We seek to live out the gospel in Namalemba---protecting the vulnerable, loving the orphan and the widow, and raising up the next generation of Ugandan leaders for Christ.
