Daystar medical center

When we first moved into Namalemba, community members consistently cited quality, accessible healthcare as their most pressing need. After much prayer and discernment, we decided to devote our resources to establishing a community medical clinic.

By the grace of God and through the generosity of our donors, Daystar Medical Center opened in November 2021. We are open 7 days a week for both inpatient and outpatient services. 

Since opening our doors, we have been busy delivering babies, treating malaria, diagnosing ailments, and treating infections. We see between15 and 25 patients each day, and we are making full use of our female, male, and children's in-patient wards.

Dr. Irene is working as the primary clinician, and we've been able to hire a secondary clinician, nurse/midwife, lab technician, and security guard.

Even before we officially opened our doors, people were lining up asking for treatment. We are so grateful to be able to meet this need in our community. We are especially grateful to our donors who enable us to subsidize the cost of treatment so that it is accessible to the community. 

Many of our patients are expecting mothers. Thanks to generous donations, we purchased an ultrasound machine in January 2022 which allows us to provide more comprehensive prenatal care and other important diagnostic services. We deliver 25 to 35 babies a month, and we love being able to give these little ones a strong and healthy start in the world! 

It is a great joy to be the hands and feet of our great Healer here in Namalemba. We pray our patients find both physical and spiritual wholeness through Daystar Medical Center.
